Abstract
1309871 Electro-chemical analysis NORTH HANTS ENG CO Ltd 29 Feb 1972 [1 March 1971] 5638/71 Heading G1N To measure the oxygen content of a flowing water sample, it is first regulated to a constant flow rate and the conductivity stabilized at a predetermined value by addition of electrolyte. The measuring probe is then CALIBRATED:- (a) the zeroing potentiometer is adjusted to backoff the measuring cell signal (comprising the standing current and that due to oxygen in the sample; (b) a predetermined amount of oxygen is added to the sample by an electrolytic generator, and the meter shunt adjusted to give the appropriate scale reading; (c) the meter is rezeroed with static fluid on the cell. An annular cell with a carbon ring and platinum gauze electrodes is illustrated Fig. 2 (not shown).
