Abstract

1309732 Tool holders ALFRED HERBERT Ltd 19 May 1970 [27 May 1969] 26639/69 Heading B3C A tool holder comprises a shank and a tool supporting member each having engageable complementary serrated portions and the axes of rotation of the supporting member and the shank are parallel but displaced from one another. The effective radius of the cutting tool 17 is altered by disengaging the serrations 16, 20 rotating the support member 18 relative to the shank 10 and retightening the bolt 22. In alternative arrangements a bolt may pass through the tool support and threadedly engage the shank. In a further embodiment the serrations are provided on adjacent surfaces of the shank and tool supporting member between which a spring is disposed to urge the serrated portions out of engagement.
