Abstract
1309202 Mechanical switches; switchboards SPRECHER & SCHUH AG 21 May 1971 [9 Feb 1971] 16295/71 Heading H1N In a control cabinet 1, Fig. 2, adapted to receive numbers of push-in modules 2 (only one shown) having plug-in contact-units 7, 9 for the control circuit and main circuit respectively, the modules 2 can be located either fully engaged or partially withdrawn for testing, with the main circuit plug 9 withdrawn (as shown) or made fully withdrawable as determined by the position of locking cams 40, 41, 42, 43, engageable with a flange 44 on the cabinet 1. For disconnection of the main circuit, the plugin unit 9 is rigidly fixed to the module 2 whereby it is withdrawn from the main circuit socket unit (8), Fig. 4 (not shown), when the module 2 is withdrawn to its first partially withdrawn position (shown, Fig. 2), determined by cam arm 42<SP>11</SP> engaging flange 44 after rotation of locking head 39 on shaft 38 carrying the cams. A further quarter turn of the head 39 results in the module 2 being held in position with limited movement due to the flange 44 lying between cams 42, 43, the cam 41 however being rotated to a position at which it depresses a microswitch (not shown) to close the control circuit. For entire removal of the module 2, the head 39 is rotated by a further quarter turn to release all the cams clear of the flange 44. The plug-in contact unit 7 for the testing circuit is mounted on a pair of slidable guide pins 13, Fig. 7, whereby on partial withdrawal of the module 1 and supports 14, 15 for the guide pins 13 the contact unit remains plugged in to the unit 6 in the position of Fig. 6 (not shown). On complete withdrawal of the module 1 the pins 13 are automatically locked in the withdrawn position by spring loaded catch bolts 25, 26 engaging recesses 18 on the pins 13 while guide and latch pin socket guides 16, 17 for the plug and socket units 6, 7 are separated. On reinsertion of the module or a replacement module the plug-in unit 7 is thereby held locked by bolts 25, 26 until the units 6, 7 are fully engaged to the circuit testing position only. For re-engagement of the main circuit plug to socket units 8, 9 the bolts 25, 26 are released by depression of an unlocking plunger rod 20 having a depressible head extending through the front plate 21 of the module and having a wedge cam edge 23 engageable with a tag 24 to withdraw the catch bolt 25. A spring loaded linkage 31, 32 &c. on pivots 33, 34 of a further module plate 36 causes corresponding withdrawal of the catch bolt 26 from the recess 18 of lower bolt 13 whereby the module can be fully inserted.
