Abstract
1308322 Valves BARBER & COLMAN Ltd 6 Jan 1971 [1 Jan 1970] 77/70 Heading F2V [Also in Division G3] A regulating arrangement, which is usable in association with a rectangular section duct 6 for controlling a flow 9 therethrough, comprises a bearing plate 7 which is secured to the duct at an angle of 45 degrees relative to the duct surface, a two-limb damper 10 which is pivotable about the free edge of plate 7, and a further plate 13 which is so secured to the duct as to co-operate with a limb 12 of the damper 10 for conjointly defining a flow-restricting throat. In the absence of flow, damper limb 12 rests on the bearing plate 7 (Fig. 5, not shown) whereas with increasing flow the damper pivots in a clockwise direction and to a degree dependent upon the fluid flow. A bleed aperture 14 ensures that the damper is unimpeded in its pivoted movement only to the degree that it does not oscillate. The damper is composed of two limbs 11 and 12 which are secured along a common edge and at right angles to one another.
