Abstract

1307108 Folding trolleys F SKINNER 17 Dec 1971 [21 Dec 1970] 60492/70 Headings B7B and B7H A folding trolley, particularly an electrically powered golf trolley, comprises three wheel supporting legs 50, 52, 54 which are relatively movable to the stowed position. The legs are pivotally connected to form a Y-shaped frame member, leg 50 being movable in a plane at right angles to the plane of movement of legs 52, 54, the latter legs being held in the operative position by a strut 26 which with the legs 52, 54 supports a battery 22. Leg 50 mounts a depending column on which wheel 16, motor 20 and a chain drive 18 are rotatably supported, a steering handle 34 being provided. The handle 34 is pivoted at 36, Fig. 4, and is biased to its uppermost position by a spring 38, in which position a brake block 44 on the handle engages the wheel 16. On depresssion of the handle wheel 16 is released and a first micro switch 42 closed to actuate the motor 20. On further depression switch 44 is actuated to cut out a resistance R and more power is provided. A free wheel device is provided for wheel 16. In another embodiment (Fig. 6, not shown) the rear wheel legs are pivotally connected to either end of a straight channel member and the front wheel leg pivotally connected to the centre of the member.
