Abstract
1306596 Halopyridines IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 24 June 1971 [21 July 1970] 35283/70 Heading C2C 3,5 - Dichloro - 2,6 - difluoro - 4 - hydroxypyridine and salts thereof are prepared by reaction of pentachloropyridine with an alkali metal fluoride and a metal carboxylate in a non-hydroxylic solvent, followed if desired by hydrolysis of the salt formed. An acidic compound, basic compound or alcohol may be used as initiator.
