Abstract

1305328 Linkwork CONCRETE FORMWORK ENGS PTY Ltd 20 July 1971 [21 July 1970] 33907/71 Heading F2K A vertically adjustable work loaded platform 20 is supported on a spaced pair of interconnected lazy-tongs linkages mounted on a power driven steerable stripping trolley 10 used for the removal of concrete formwork used in the construction of reinforced concrete floors in buildings, the lazy-tongs linkages being pivotally connected by links 24 to the trolley at 22 and being extended, or retracted, by a horizontally arranged hydraulic ram 56 operating, via a carriage 62 roller mounted at 64 in the trolley, on the lower end of sliding links 26, the pivotal connection points 36 of the first pair of links 24, 26, being at a point more than half the length of said links 24, 26 from their said lower connections to the trolley and being offset upwardly from the end connecting points of these links 24, 26 to increase the distance between the pivot point 36 and the line of action X of the hydraulic ram and thus increase the mechanical advantage of the linkwork to thereby reduce the ram load necessary to raise, or lower, the loaded platform when operating in the collapsed zone of the lazy-tongs linkwork. The upper pair of crossed links 30, 32, which are not connected to each other, are pivotally connected at 46 to the ends of the lower links 24, 26 and additionally, connected by tension tie links 44 to these links 24, 26, the upper ends of the links 30, 32 being slidably and pivotally connected to the platform support frame 48.
