Abstract
1304584 Stencil printing FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 10 March 1970 [11 March 1969 11497/70 Heading B6C [Also in Division D2] A stencil is placed in contact with an ink sheet, bearing an ink which is solid at ambient temperatures and can be rendered fluid by heating, and the ink is heated in a printing so that the ink becomes fluid, passes through the stencil, and produces an imprint. Preferably the ink sheet and stencil are mounted on a rotary cylinder of the machine, are passed through rollers with a sheet to be pivoted or are placed on a flat surface to which a roller is applied. The ink may contain carbon black, phthalocyanme blue, prussian blue, cadmium yellow or an azo dye, dispersed in a carrier which may be a wax, a thermoplastic resin or an alcohol with more than 16 carbon atoms. Alternatively the ink may be a colourless one which gives an imprint on clay-coated paper, containing for example 3,3-bis(p-dimethylamino phenol)-6-dimethylamino phthalide, rhodamine # lactone, fluorane, leuco auramine or benzoyl leuco methylene blue, dissolved in a solvent which may be chlorinated diphenyl and dispersed in one of the above carriers.
