Abstract

130,445. White, J. W. July 25, 1918. Rope railways.-The track cable of aerial ropeways is supported from or by one or more ropes which pass over a standard and are continued to form a guy-rope. The cable 1, Fig. 1, is supported by links 8, 9 from a rope 12 which takes up a catenary curve and, passing over the standard 6, becomes the guy-rope 13. In a modification, Fig. 2, the ropes 14, 15, &c. are connected at the standard with a guy-rope 19. The supporting ropes or links may be bolted to the wedge-shaped top of a bracket carrying the track cable, which may be secured as described in Specification 127,354, or the ropes may be secured by wedges to an horizontal bar carrying two cables.
