Abstract

1303997 Grinding DELAPENA HONING EQUIPMENT Ltd 15 Oct 1970 [17 Oct 1969] 51013/69 Heading B3D A shell 18 for a honing stone 15' comprises a channel of constant width and tapering depth, the base of the shell being of semi-cylindrical form from which a segment 19 is cut having a width which decreases from the full width of the shell at the shallow end to zero at the deep end. The stone is used in a tool for honing a bore of small diameter, the tool having a slot 14 for receiving the stone which is radially adjustable by axial movement of a wedge 16 in a bore 17 of the body of the tool. The stone is of constant rectangular section and secured in the shell by adhesive. The base of the shell has two tabs 20, 21, one of which forms a closure member for the shallow end of the shell, and the other of which acts as a detent to help retain the shell in the slot 14.
