1303199 Treated pumice; treating water to remove oil or organic solvents STRABIT WERKE GmbH 22 Dec 1970 [19 Sept 1970] 60965/70 Headings C1C and C1M A binding agent for oil and organic solvents consists of pumice which has been made water repellent by being treated with, for example, waterglass or a silicone. Preferably the pumice has a particle size of between 0À5 and 4 mm. The pumice may be treated by mixing pumice with methylpolysiloxane dissolved in a mixture of benzine, benzene hydrocarbons and higher monohydric alcohols.
