Abstract

1303014 Packaging containers ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS Inc 5 Oct 1971 [6 Oct 1970] 46322/71 Heading B8C A carrier blank for use in forming a package of containers 10 comprises a flat carrier sheet 16 of resiliently deformable material having apertures 14 for each, receiving and snugly engaging the upper end of a corresponding container, and a band portion 20 initially surrounding the carrier sheet and connected thereto by strap means 26, 26a and also by frangible connections 32, 32a which break when the band portion 20 is moved downwards to elastically embrace the intermediate body portions of the containers, with the band portion 20 remaining joined to the carrier sheet by the strap means 26, 26a. As shown, the carrier sheet includes lifting openings 18, 18a. In another arrangement, Fig. 3 (not shown), the strap portions are formed at the ends of the carrier sheet.
