Abstract

1301057 Pipe couplings FESTO-MASCHINENFABRIK GOTTLIEB STOLL 19 April 1971 [25 March 1970] 23850/71 Heading F2G A pipe or hose connector comprises a tubular member 1 formed with an annular bead 8 over which the end of a hose 3 may be pushed, the bead defining surfaces 7 and 9 of which surface 9 is the more steeply inclined to the axis of the connector, and a nut 2 threadedly engageable with the tubular member 1 and formed with a surface 11 for clamping the hose to surface 9. The hose 3 includes a rubber or plastics body 15 and a braided steel wire covering 16. Threads 6 permit the attachment of, for example, a metal pipe to the connector. Surfaces 11 and 9 may be parallel or inclined slightly to each other. Surfaces 11 and 9 may, alternatively, be partspherical and of substantially the same radius of curvature with their centres located on the connector axis and non-coincident. Surface 7 may be formed with annular grooves.
