Abstract
1301017 Mechanical storage system JEUMONT-SCHNEIDER 17 Feb 1970 [19 Feb 1969] 7614/70 Heading B8E A storage system comprises units 10, 20, 30 each comprising elements 310 of at least two compartments 313 usually in stacks 311, 312 backing a handling passage which in the unit together with others, forms a corridor. Below each storage element runs an endless conveyer e.g. 31-37 arranged end to end with conveyers of other units and conveyers 01-07 and 41-47 of intake and discharge zones. A stacker crane is provided in each corridor capable of moving a load, stopped by a separating device in a corridor, for storage in a compartment 313 or removing a load from a compartment for transmission by the endless conveyers separating devices may be provided in the intake and discharge zone to allow degrouping or regrouping of loads therein. The conveyers 01-07, 41-47 may be in the form of strings of mobile trucks. The numbers and sizes of the units may be varied to change the store capacity, storage elements 382, 392 may be provided for special loads and conveyer 61, 62 may be provided for more rapid discharge.
