Abstract

1299482 Catches MICRO & PRECISION MOULDINGS (CHELTENHAM) Ltd 27 April 1971 [6 May 1970] 21943/70 Heading E2A A catch for a cupboard door comprises an integral one-piece body 11, e.g. an acetal resin moulding, having a fixing flange 12 and a tubular formation which projects from the flange to provide a central taper socket in which a tapered striker projection 22 of a keeper 20 can be received and retained with a grip which can be freed by pulling the keeper and the catch body apart; the tubular formation is re-entrant to provide a continuous outer wall 13 surrounding and spaced from an inwardly directed portion 14 which is slotted to provide a plurality of resiliently flexible tongues 16 for engagement with the projection so that the latter is restrained in all directions. As shown, the socket is formed by frusto-conical portions 18, 19 respectively having cone angles of 30‹ and 60‹ and the keeper, of nylon is provided with a fixing flange 21, the projection 22 consisting of frusto-conical portions 23, 25 having cone angles of 22‹ and 60‹ respectively.
