1298972 Making moulds; foundry moulds; forging dies; stamping P-O STRANDELL 23 June 1970 [25 June 1969] 30436/70 Addition to 1243409 Headings B3A B3F B3H and B3Q [Also in Division B5] A mould for a foundry press or metal powder compacting as claimed in claim 1 of parent Specification has a mould cavity 11 which, in radial cross-section, Fig. 3, has sharp corners and the mould body is slotted, 16, along two or more of the corners to form two or more separate body portions 15 which are held together by the tensioning force of the pre-tensioned winding 12 of metallic strip material. The forces on the faces 18 of the cavity 11 are met by making the body portions thicker in the regions of greatest stress. Specification 1,298,971 is referred to.
