If the tooth is also loose screw 8 may be replaced by a screw 23, Fig. 9, extending through the tooth and threaded into a member 24 which is implanted in the jaw and has a cup-shaped part for abutting the tooth root and closing off the root canal. The screw 23 and bush 7 or member (18) may be replaced by an anchoring means comprising a disc (30), Fig. 14 (not shown) for engaging mesh 6 and secured on an elongated member having a part (31) projecting into cavity 3 and a part (29) extending through the tooth and engaging in the member 24.
