Coating-appliances, hand.-A device for doping aeroplane and like fabrics, of the kind in which the dope is fed directly on to the brush or to the fabric in advance of the brush, comprises a closed container a with a sloping bottom b formed or provided with a delivery shoot c terminating in a slot d, and an ordinary paint or doping brush l adjustably mounted on the container by means of sockets m, o, p and a multiple spring-clip n. Absorbent felt k is inserted in the delivery slot, and the rate of flow of the dope is controlled by a hinged flap e operated by a finger-lever g near the handle q, a clip i holding the finger-lever in any desired position. A vent-hole or valve @ is provided to allow the liquid to run freely. The shoot c may be adjustably hinged to the container for varying its inclination. For doping vertical or inclined surfaces, a partition t sloping towards the rear portion of the container may be provided, together with means for applying air pressure within the container. The dope may be heated by a hot-water jacket round the container. The container may be filled through an opening or funnel in the cover, or may be constantly supplied from a centrally-situated reservoir, which may supply several containers.
