Abstract

1296919 Metallurgical converters EISENWERK - GESELLSCHAFT MAXIMILIANSHUTTE mbH 17 Dec 1970 [27 Dec 1969] 60021/70 Addition to 1253581 Heading F4B [Also in Division C7] In a modification of the converter described and claimed in Specification 1,253,581, the bath is caused to circulate both vertically and also rotationally round the longitudinal axis of the converter. This may be achieved using gas nozzles 14 located in an arc preferably centred on the converter axis,'each nozzle being circumferentially inclined, e.g. at an angle of 75 degrees to the floor of the converter, or by arranging the nozzles 21 in two parallel rows one on either side of the axis, all the nozzles being similarly inclined with respect to the axis.
