Abstract
1296334 Reciprocating pumps AUDI NSU AUTO UNION AG 12 July 1971 [14 July 1970] 32551/71 Heading F1A A pump for supplying two different liquids in a predetermined volume ratio, e.g. fuel and oil to a mixture-lubricated I.C. engine, comprises a fuelpumping diaphragm 4 and an oil-pumping piston 5 both connected to an actuating diaphragm 16, the upper side of which is continuously connected to a source of vacuum or pressure and the lower side of which is alternately connected to the vacuum or pressure source and atmosphere by a bistable slide valve 23 actuated at the end of each stroke by snap-action spring arms 25 on diaphragm 16. A pressure-sensitive valve 31 limits the discharge pressure, restriction 32 reducing loss of vacuum or pressure when valve 31 is open. The fuel inlet is controlled by check valve 7, and the oil inlet by a spring-loaded' valve 12 which is opened when the vacuum is applied beneath diaphragm 16. The outlets 8 and 13 from both pumping chambers; open via a common check valve 10 into a mixing chamber 9 with an outlet 14.
