Abstract

1296144 Mechanical switches BELL ACCORDION CORP 11 Feb 1970 [4 Sept 1969] 6707/70 Heading H1N [Also in Division G5] A combined accordion-electronic organ comprises an accordion with reeds for conventional use and switches operated by the same keys for controlling an electronic organ in a separate box. Treble key switches.-The treble keys 30, Fig. 8, operate porting valves 302, 304 conventionally and also each have a hook 306 which normally flexes a coil spring 308 but on actuation releases the spring into contact with a bus 204. Bass key switches.-The bass key buttons operate sliders 905, Fig. 16, which through pin 913 and arm 915 rotate tubes 917 to port air to appropriate reeds in conventional fashion. Each tube 917 is extended and has an arm 928, Fig. 15, carrying a sleeve 929 which on rotation of the tube pushes a conductive coiled spring 930 into contact with a bus 92. Tab switches.-The accordion box is provided with stop tabs for the electronic organ. Each tab switch comprises a rocker 114, Fig. 12, hav. ing a projection 76 which co-operates with a spring 70 to define two switch positions. Projection 76 carries a coiled spring 77 which makes contact between similar coiled spring contacts 78, 700. Fig. 12 shows one make and one break tab switch.
