Abstract
1294192 Recovering used lubricants M CLATTER 29 Jan 1970 [24 Nov 1969] 4280/70 Heading C5E [Also in Division B1] A liquid, e.g. lubricating oil, is reconditioned by being introduced into a container, and agitated and ozonized in two consecutive stages in the containers. The liquid is introduced into the container 1 through a pipe 6 terminating in a pressure ozonizing device 7, Fig. 3 (not shown), having a shell surrounding the end of the pipe which is closed but has lateral slots, an ozone supply pipe 11 extending inside the pipe and ending in hollow cylindrical ceramic distributors. The oil and ozone leave the bottom of the shell which has a sliding gate for adjusting the pressure inside the shell. Ozone also enters the container through a pipe 15 leading to distributors 19 enclosed by driven endless fine mesh wires 23a, 23b. Agitators 25, 26 have blades 31, 32 having openings 33, 34. Alternatively, the blades may be bars; horseshoes, paddles, crossbars, propellers or turbine blades.
