Abstract

1292907 Determining the proportion of red corpuscles in blood HEINZ JANET ZKI KG MASCHINENBAU 13 Feb 1970 6952/70 Headings G1M and G1S Capillary tubes 15 supported radially in slots 14 on a tube carrier 6, contain blood which has been centrifuged to cause the cellular blood elements to separate from the plasma. The quantity of cellular elements provides a measure of the red corpuscle content it is desired to determine. The carrier 6 which has been removed from the centrifuge is releasably mounted by means of pins 5 on a rotatable disk 4 which may be held in an indexed poisition by a ball 13 engaging in one of a series of sockets 12. The disk 4 rotates on a spindle 7 held in a slide 2 which is itself adjustable on a base 1 by means of a screw 3, and a graduated transparent plate 8 hinged to and laterally adjusted on a holder 9 may be swung down to overlie the tubes so that the percentage content of red corpuscles in each tube in turn may be read from the graduation 18 cutting the separation line when the 0 and 17 lines on the scale have been arranged to cut across the top and bottom levels of the blood sample as a whole.
