Abstract

1291412 Laminated film TAKASHIMA & CO Ltd 6 Jan 1971 [9 June 1970] 583/71 Heading B5N [Also in Division B8] A laminated film suitable for the shrink packing of articles comprises at least one uniaxially or biaxially stretched heat shrinkable film 2, 3 and a lattice of heat-shrinkable flat yarns 4, 5 stretched in their longitudinal direction, the flat yarns being bonded to the film or films so as to be at a non-zero angle to the stretching direction of the or each film. The heat-shrinkable film may be of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride or polyvinylidene chloride. The flat yarns may be made by slitting non-stretched or lightly stretched films of polyethylene or polypropylene to form flat yarns and stretching the resultant yarns; alternatively, uniaxially stretched films may be used. The components of the laminated film may be bonded by induction welding.
