Abstract
1290836 Egg and cereal package P R G YOUNG 23 Nov 1970 [26 Feb 1970] 9388/70 Heading B8C A package comprises a hermetically sealed container filled with a cereal breakfast food in which is embedded and protectively supported at least one preserved egg in the shell. The package may be in the form of a can, a rigid plastics container, or a flexible plastics wrapping or bag. The egg(s) may be preserved by prior immersion in water-glass or by storing under an inert gas in the package. In addition the egg(s) may be wrapped in a hermetically sealed membrane of thin plastics sheet, e.g. polythene. The package may comprise a thin polythene sheet so that the cereal may be compressed by at least partially evacuating the package. The egg(s) may be raw or at least partially cooked. A slice of bacon or ham may be wrapped around the egg(s) or separately hermetically wrapped and packed with the cereal. A packet of salt or other seasoning may be included.
