1290361 Neo-esters BP CHEMICALS Ltd 29 July 1970 [5 Aug 1969] 39140/69 Heading C2C A process for the production of an ester of a di-neo acid, including those of the formula where R 1 -R 4 are all methyl groups or methylene groups which are part of an alicyclic ring and R 5 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl or ethyl group, R 6 and R 7 are alkyl groups C 1-3 and y is 0 or an integer from 1 to 6, stated to be novel, comprises heating the di-neo acid and an alcohol or phenol at 150‹ to 400‹ C. either in an uncatalysed reaction or in the presence of a tetraalkyl titanate.
