Abstract
1290035 Erecting masts B KLOSTERMARK 24 Nov 1970 [27 Nov 1969] 55880/70 Heading B8B A device for stabilizing during erection, the top section 3 of a telescopic mast having three sections 1, 2, 3 comprises three wires 12 extending from a common fixed point 5 on the bottom mast section 1, looped around a pulley 14 subjected to the force of a weight 13 on a spring, over pulley 15 and 16 on the bottom and intermediate mast section, and then extending separately to separate pulleys 17 at the top of the mast, from which the wires 12 extend down to equi-angularly spaced anchor pins 18 in the ground. The weight 13 hangs freely during raising and lowering to tension the wires 12, and is secured by a wire 19 to a cleat 20 on the bottom section 1 when the mast is fully extended or when the mast is to stay in partially extended position. The telescopic movement of the mast is effected by winding on to a drum 4<SP>1</SP>, a cable 4 passing over a pulley 8 on the bottom section 1, under pulleys 6, 7 on the intermediate section 2 and fixed to the point 5, whereby the section 2 is raised. Wires 9 extending from ground anchors 11, over pulleys 10 at the top of the intermediate section 2, and fixed to the base of the top section 3, raise the latter as the intermediate section 2 is raised.
