Abstract

1288779 Ships &c H V ROSE 15 Jan 1971 [25 Oct 1969 1 Dec 1969] 52382/69 and 58477/69 Headings B7A and B7V A ship, boat, pontoon, raft, dock or other vessel 10 is supported on rotatable buoyancy members 12, and either the vessel or the buoyancy members can be flooded to alter the position of the water line. As shown, these members are smooth surfaced wheels which are rotated as the vessel is being propelled by other means to reduce friction, but according to a modification (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown), they carry radial or edge vanes which alone propel the vessel. The members may also be either rollers, or wheels equipped with tyres to permit amphibious operation. Also endless tracks may extend over the wheels.
