Abstract

1287352 Thermal regenerators SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER AB 19 April 1971 [14 April 1970] 17666/70 Heading F4K In a boiler plant utilizing two parallel-connected rotary thermal regenerators 10 to extract heat to air from the boiler flue gases, the distribution of the air or gas between the two regenerators is regulated by a damper. In the apparatus shown the heating gas is proportioned between the two regenerators by the damper 28 so as to maintain the same gas temperature in the discharge duct 16 for both regenerators. The damper 28 is controlled by temperature sensing means 32 in each of the ducts 16. The overall gas discharge temperature is maintained above a predetermined minimum and within a predetermined temperature range for practical reasons by temperature sensing means 34 which controls via dampers 26 the quantity of air caused to by-pass the regenerators through ducts 24. The device 34 may be replaced by temperature sensing devices in the ducts 16 these being connected to a single computer device for indicating the mean temperature. The air may be supplied to the air inlet ducts by one or more fans.
