Abstract
1287052 Electromagnetic relays PYE Ltd 28 April 1971 [29 May 1970] 25943/70 Heading HlN A "low-profile" electromagnetic relay suitable for mounting on a printed circuit board has a substantially rectangular magnetic base-plate 1 provided with a plurality of lead-through insulated sealed in terminals 2-9 and forming part of the magnetic circuit of the relay which includes two cylindrical soft iron cores 30, 31 fixed at one end to the base-plate and extending perpendicularly therefrom and an armature 20 pivotally mounted on a pivot post 21 mounted on the base-plate 1 parallel to the cores and midway between them. The armature has push rods 36, 38 at its ends with insulating sleeves 37, 39 to actuate change over spring contact sets 10-16 and 17-19 which are mounted or terminals 2-4 and 6-8. The armature 20 is biased by a torsion spring 22 with its ends in respective holes 24, 26 in the base 1 and armature 20. The end of the cores 30, 31 remote from the armature are provided with polepieces 34, 35 for co-operation with the ends of the armature and a non-magnetic spring strip mounted on the pole-piece 35 acts as an armature back stop. A pressed metal cover 40 is sealed to the base 1.
