Abstract

1286260 Automatic phase control BRITISH AIRCRAFT CORP Ltd 12 Nov 1969 [12 Nov 1968] 53646/68 Heading H3A In a phase control circuit in which the phase shift introduced by an element in a circuit is detected to provide a control voltage which is supplied to an element to adjust the phase shift, the control voltage is combined with a reference signal corresponding to a desired phase shift. As described, the phase shift introduced by an A.C. stabilizer is detected by a bistable type phase comparator 3, and the resulting variable width output pulses are D.C. restored by 5, integrated at 6 and fed to summing amplifier A3. A reference voltage, manually set by resistor R2 to correspond to a predetermined phase shift, is fed to the other input of amplifier A3 and, if the resulting output from A3 exceeds upper and lower limits set by L7, L8, lead or lag signals are fed to a phase shifter in the input of the A.C. stabilizer.
