Abstract

1285224 Polyurethane foams FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER AG 15 Oct 1969 [22 Oct 1968] 50634/69 Headings C3C and C3R Polyurethane foams having a compact surface, a cellular core and no tendency to sink are prepared by foaming in a mould under appropriate conditions (e.g. compression) for integral foams at least one compound containing reactive hydrogen atoms, at least one blowing agent and/or water, one or more polyisocyanates and an alkali metal aluminium silicate with a zeolite structure. Compounds containing reactive hydrogen atoms are preferably polyalkylene glycol ethers or mixtures thereof with hydroxy polyesters. The alkali metal aluminium silicate is preferably activated and partially hydrated. Exemplified ingredients of foams are sodium aluminium silicate zeolite, a condensation product of propylene oxide, ethylene oxide and trimethylol propane, a condensation product of ethylene oxide and butane-1,4-diol, a condensation product of propylene oxide and sucrose, ethylene glycol, and the hydrate thereof, trichloromonochloromethane, triethylenediamine, 1 - methyl - 4 - dimethylaminoethylpiperazine, dibutyl tin dilaurate, a polysiloxane polyalkylene glycol-polyether copolymer, polyphenyl-polymethylene polyisocyanate, a carbodiimide-containing diphenylmethane diisocyanate and isocyanate-containing adducts of tripropylene glycol and hexamethylene-1,6-diisocyanate and 4,4<SP>1</SP>-diphenylmethane diisocyanate. Uses.-Semi-hard or hard mouldings in the form of panels, shells, dashboard coverings, upholstery and heat insulating materials.
