Abstract
1285126 Hot water supply RAYPAK THERMONICS (CANADA) Ltd 7 July 1970 32852/70 Heading F4A Hot water produced in gas-fired boiler 10 is circulated through storage tank 80 by pump 92 and back to the boiler, a small proportion circulating round pipes 84, 90 from which pipe 86 branches to a device 88 requiring high temperature water. When starting from cold the hot water entering the tank via pipe 76 from the boiler will rise and collect in the tank until it is full when most of the inflow will be deflected by plate 82 directly to return pipe 98. When hot water is drawn by device 88 it is replenished by cold water, through inlet 106 and non-return valve 107, which becomes mixed with the circulating water in pipe 75 before reaching a temperature sensor 61 in the inlet header 15 in the boiler which controls the gas flow to the burners. Cooler water may be supplied through outlet 110 by mixing valve 104 fed from both the cold supply and from the hot water supply line 84 via branch 102.
