Abstract

1284692 Lick A AGOT 18 Jan 1971 2440/ 71 Heading A2B A nutritive lick especially for ruminants comprises an agglomerate of mineral substances, energy producing food substances, or medicinal food substances, and a binder for maintaining the block in a rigid state comprising a waxy material formed by the admixture of a saturated fatty acid, for example stearic or palmitic acid, with at least one mineral salt thereof, for example the magnesium salt. The binder may additionally comprise natural fats such as lard, and tallow or a wax. The block may be formed by mixing the ingredients with the binder in a liquid state and allowing to cool in a mould.
