Abstract
1283675 Pulse generating circuits COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE 19 April 1971 [23 Feb 1970] 21772/71 Heading H3P A supply device for delivering rectangular pulses comprises a storage capacitor 24a, a rapid closure switching arrangement 28a, e.g. a triggered spark gap, connecting the capacitor 24a to a transmission line consisting of a plurality of two-conductor sections 32, 34 connected in series and having the same characteristic impedance, the output being obtained across terminals 20a, 22a connected to the ends of one section 34. The sections 32, 34 may be formed of coaxial lines or flat propagation lines and the load 10a may be formed by an image converter tube, Kerr or Pockels cells. The load 10a may be connected in shunt as shown or in series (Fig. 4, not shown) with the sections. The transmission line may be closed on its characteristic impedance at 22a or extended by a further section 36 to supply another load element.
