Abstract

1282431 Chimney support means WALLACE MURRAY CORP 9 Oct 1969 [5 June 1969] 49703/69 Heading F2P [Also in Division E2] A support for prefabricated chimney 12 comprises a mounting plate 18 pivoted to the integral upright portion 22 of an angle bracket 16 so that the base portion (20), Fig. 2 (not shown), of the angle bracket can be tilted to the same slope as the roof and secured thereto after the mounting plate has been secured to the chimney. In the one form the pivot is formed by a bolt (32), Fig. 6 (not shown) while a second bolt (50) engages an arcuate slot (28) in the upright portion 22. The mounnting plate has spaced apart parallel slots (38) Fig. 5 (not shown), to assist in the bending of the plate to the general curve of the chimney. The plate is initially secured to the chimney by a temporary strap (56) threaded through these slots and removed after screws (48) are driven through boles (46) into the chimney wall. Similar supports may be secured at opposite sides of the chimney.
