Abstract
1282025 Clocks CENTRE ELECTRONIQUE HORLOGER S A 5 Nov 1969 [5 Nov 1968] 54144/69 Heading G3T In a clock having a mechanical resonator, as regulator, indexing pulses are transmitted by the resonator to hands driving mechanism during normal operation in one half period of each oscillation of the resonator, and regulating mechanism is operable on the resonator to add or suppress an indexing impulse during each period of oscillation whilst the regulating mechanism is in operation. During normal operation of the illustrated embodiment a projection 7 on a balance 5 advances a ratchet wheel 8 one step per oscillation of the balance. When, however, an electromagnet 9 is energized a stop spring 12 carried by an armature 10 is moved into the path of a pin 13 on the balance 5, to check the movement, of the latter when it is in a dead centre position, to add or suppress an indexing impulse depending upon the direction of movement of the pin 13 when it engages the stop spring 12. The electromagnet 9 may be energized by synchronizing radio signals. A permanent magnet 17, Figs. 3a and 3b (not shown) co-operates with the ratchet wheel 8, which is acted upon by the projection 7 and the magnet (17) in such manner that indexing movements are imported thereto in one direction only of movement of the projection 7.
