Abstract

1281062 Current collectors MATSUSHITA DENKO KK 10 Nov 1969 [11 Nov 1968 (2) 28 Nov 1968 12 May 1969] 54823/69 Heading H2E A distribution duct P for use with a rail or duct H having conductors 27 spaced by a slot 31 comprises an insulating member 1 having laterally projecting arms 2 locating electrical spring contacts 7 whereby the plug is securable to the rail in a slidable mounting with the contacts 7 connectible to the conductors 27. The mounting arrangement includes a flange 12 and a spring 15 for resiliently biasing the plug towards the rail. The electrical contacts may be U-shaped or have leg portions (Figs. 6, 10, not shown) locatable in an insulating tube 1 carrying connecting wires 8, the contacts being separated by insulating members (41, 52, Figs. 6, 10). To lock the plug in any desired position on the rail, a threaded sleeve 19 is provided. A further threaded sleeve 22 may be provided to clamp the plug against rotation. The rail or duct comprises a pair of conductors secured by an insulator 28 within a channel shaped housing 33 having ledges 32 about which the arms 2 and flange 12 may be resiliently clamped.
