Abstract

1280227 Wet separation of solids MOBIL OIL CORP 4 July 1969 33863/69 Heading B2H [Also in Division G1] A mud screen comprises a housing 70 inside which is mounted a screen wire cylinder 74 fitted over a funnel 76 engaged in a stand pipe 77. Drilling mud is pumped through pipe 78 and a tangential inlet 79 so that smaller particles pass through into housing 70 and pass out through outlet 80 while larger particles are retained by the screen and fall through pipe 77 into a mud pit. An overflow pipe 81 removes excess clean mud. (For Figure see next page)
