1277684 Boots &c MUREX Ltd 19 April 1971 [8 April 1970] 16664/70 Heading A3B A footwear stud has a spherical tip 10 of wear resistant material, e.g. cemented tungsten carbide set, e.g. by means of silver alloy 12, in a recess 8 of shank 2 which is of less wear resistant material, e.g. of nylon or steel. The stud may be fixed by pin 5 and base 4 on the sole, as shown, or by a spike driven into the sole or be made integral with a sole plate.
