Abstract

1277549 Two part coupling PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 April 1971 [4 Feb 1970] 20749/71 Heading H2E A multiple connector socket comprises an insulated housing 1 having walls 23, 17, connected by wall 7 defining a contact chamber 9, the contact 13 having a pre-stressed, struck-out tongue 21 directed towards the lead connecting portion 11 engaging wall 23, the contacting portion 19 of the contact extending into a plug receiving passage for a plate shaped contact plug 5. The contact is secured from withdrawal by cementing with glue the strip 27 in the housing. The contacts may be punched out with a carrier strip (Fig. 2, not shown) which is removed during assembly.
