Abstract
1276238 Microwave ovens AMANA REFRIGERATION Inc 12 Oct 1970 [24 Oct 1969] 48443/70 Heading H5H In a microwave oven having a choke structure surrounding the door 20 for preventing the escape of microwave energy between the door and door opening, a conductive lining 74 is provided on the choke walls 28a, 28, 30, 30a, for carrying the surface currents. The lining need only be on walls 28a, 28, 30, Fig. 7, (not shown). The choke structure is attached to the periphery of the door 20 or is fixed around the door opening Fig. 8 (not shown). A dielectric filler member 62 may be disposed within the choke. The lining 74 is a foil of aluminium, gold or silver attached to the metallic wall surfaces of the choke or is provided by coating or plating the outer surfaces of the dielectric body 62. The oven and choke structure are otherwise as in Specification 3,182,164 with the mode stirrer of Specification 2,813,185.
