Abstract

1275187 Railway vehicle bogies CREUSOTLOIRE 6 July 1970 [4 July 1969] 32571/70 Heading B7L [Also in Division F2] A railway vehicle bogie comprises a frame 1 supported on axle boxes 2 by way of resilient members 4 with an arm 5 extending from each box and pivoted at 6 to the frame, the bogie supporting the field winding 7 of an electromagnetic brake or motor by means of rods 9 pivoted to a cross-beam 10 fixed to one end of levers 12, the levers being pivoted centrally thereof at 13 to arms 5 and at their other ends suspended from the frame by rods 14 which are adjustable in length and pivoted at both ends 15, 16, the arrangement being such that the distances a, b, c, d satisfy the equation a/b= c/d, thus enabling the air gap e to remain constant. The rods 14 may be automatically adjustable in length to increase or decrease the distance e depending on how well the track is levelled.
