Abstract

1,274,604. Enzyme composition. WILSON PHARMACEUTICAL & CHEMICAL CORP. 18 Feb., 1971, No. 4942/71. Heading A5B. A dry powdered composition, free from pathogenic bacteria and having proteolytic, amylolytic and lipolytic activity, comprises comminuted pork or beef pancreas, about 10% of comminuted pork duodenum and 0.02-1.4% of calcium acetate or sulphate. It is prepared by (a) adding to the comminuted beef or pork pancreas a dispersion of the calcium acetate or sulphate in up to 5.7% water, based on the weight of pancreas, (b) adding the comminuted pork duodenum, (c) maintaining the composition at 30-40‹F. for up to 7 days, (d) washing it with acetone and (e) heating it to 120-180‹F.
