Abstract

1,272,212. Crutches. EDWARD DOHERTY & SONS Ltd. 28 April, 1969 [1 March, 1968], No. 10138/68. Heading A5R. [Also in Division E2] An elbow crutch has a C-shaped arm band 10 pivotally attached to one end of a leg 20 and a handle 26, the moment of inertia of the cross-section of either of the arms of the C about the principal axis of the band perpendicular to the plane of the C decreasing from the back of the C towards the ends of its arms. The band may be of resilient synthetic material such as polypropylene, or of spring steel. The cross-section may be rectangular, or have a stiffening flange or web, Figs. 3 and 5 (not shown).
