Abstract
1,271,260. Temperature detector. H. M. HOBSON Ltd. 9 Dec., 1970 [22 Dec., 1969] No. 62372/69. Heading G4N. An overheat detector, for detecting overheating in gas flow through a pipe 11 consists of a transformer having primary coil 10 and secondary coil 100 linked by a magnetic circuit 12. When the temperature in the pipe rises above the curie point of the magnetic circuit, which are made of nickel-iron alloy the coupling between the primary and secondary coils is broken and this is detected by means of a level detector which then operates an alarm. The device may be used in a cooler for jet engine compressor bearings.
