Abstract

1,270,484. Key receptacle. H. LAUER. 8 Sept., 1970 [26 Sept., 1969], No. 42937/70. Heading B8P. [Also in Division A4] A box, Fig. 2, containing a key is provided with a seal such that the key cannot be used unless the seal is first destroyed. In one embodiment, Fig. 2, the shaft 28 of a lead rivet passes through a hole 26 in the base 15 of a main part 12 of the box, through a hole 31 in the key 25 and then through a hole 29 in the lid 14 of the box; the portion of the shaft 28 extending beyond the upper face of the lid 14 being flattened to complete the seal. In another arrangement (Figs. 1A, 2A) the key 25 is engaged by its hole 31 over a tubular shaft (26<SP>1</SP>) provided at the location of the hole (26) in the base (15<SP>1</SP>), this box is otherwise similar in most respects to the box shown in Fig. 2. In the arrangement of Fig. 1A, 2A (not shown) the lid (14<SP>1</SP>) is sealed to the main part (12<SP>1</SP>) of the box by providing a lead seal (35) on the free ends of a lead wire (34) passed through the hole (26), the shaft (26<SP>1</SP>) and a hole (29) in the lid (14<SP>1</SP>). The lid 14 and the lid (14<SP>1</SP>) include a flange 22, (22<SP>1</SP>) which is engageable in a groove 19, (19<SP>1</SP>) formed in end wall 18, (18<SP>1</SP>) of the main part 12, (121) of the box. Alternatively the box could have a sliding lid. The box is formed from non- transparent material and may be labelled as by the card 24.
