Abstract

1,270,090. Valves. BENDIX CORP. 8 May, 1970 [27 May, 1969], No. 22264/70. Heading F2V. [Also in Division G4] A solenoid and gas pilot valve actuator for operation of a valve in a submerged gas or petroleum pipe line (see Division G4) comprises three-way gas inlets 182, 187 operated by solenoids 152, 155. When inlet 182 is opened, piston 172 is raised to allow gas to enter at 161 and drive a vane type valve operator 164. When inlet 187 is opened, piston 171 is raised and, by means of rocker arm 180, causes lowering of piston 172 so that valve operator 164 rotates in the reverse direction. Centering mechanism for piston 171 comprises glands 175 and spring 176. A detent mechanism 181 is operated by solenoid 117. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,214,050.
