Abstract

1,269,278. Trench shoring frames. A. R. S. MORRICE. 27 July, 1970 [26 July, 1969], No. 37636/69. Heading E1E. In a trench shoring frame as disclosed for example in Specification 1,122,301 and having a pair of braced side walls 2, 4 and a rear thrust plate 14 operatively connected thereto by at least one jack 16, the frame is provided with movable wedge means adapted to engage the sides and/or bottom of the trench for steering and alignment purposes. The wedge means may consist of a plate 18 pivoted at 20 to the sides of the frame and adjusted by a hydraulic jack or a screw-jack, see Fig. 3 (not shown). The leading edges 8, 10 of the side walls serve as cutting edges.
