Abstract

1,268,601. Variable pitch propeller. DIESELMOTORENWERK ROSTOCK VEB. 21 Jan., 1970, No. 2908/70. Heading B7V. A marine variable pitch propeller has a singlepart hub housing 1 open at the front and closed by flange 3 of the propeller shaft 2. The interior of the housing defines an undivided functional compartment containing propeller adjusting mechanism which comprises a displaceable yoke constructed as a cylinder 6 between bearing plates 9 of the propeller blades 11. The yoke is also equipped with adjusting pins 7 tangentially mounted on the cylinder and operatively connected via slide blocks 8 with a groove in each bearing plate. The yoke is displaced by a thrust flange 5 which is operatively connected with piston-cylinder arrangement 12, 13 acting as a servo-motor. In the embodiment shown the flange 5 is mounted on thrust rod 4 which lies in bore 15 of the propeller shaft.
